English Language Center Launches Community Partnership Program at First Al-Abna’a Secondary School in Khamis Mushait
As part of its ongoing community partnership initiatives, the English Language Center (ELC) organized a specialized one-day on-site program for female students at the First Al-Abna’a Secondary School in the Military City. This initiative reflects the Center's commitment to enhancing academic awareness and supporting high school students in their preparation for standardized tests, ensuring they are psychologically and cognitively ready for university life.

Navigating the STEP Exam
The program featured an introductory workshop on the Standardized Test of English Proficiency (STEP), delivered by the Director of the English Language Center. The session provided a comprehensive overview, including:

The Significance of STEP: Its role in academic and professional placements.

Logistics & Structure: Detailed guidance on registration procedures, exam sections, and question formats.

Success Strategies: Practical tips and effective preparation techniques to help students achieve high scores.

Managing Test Anxiety and Study Skills
To address the psychological aspects of academic performance, a certified psychologist conducted a workshop titled "Test Anxiety: Causes and Coping Mechanisms." The session covered:

Understanding Anxiety: Differentiating between "motivational anxiety" that drives performance and "inhibitory anxiety" that hinders it.

Practical Tools: Hands-on training in anxiety regulation techniques, including breathing exercises and relaxation methods.

Scientific Study Methods: Effective, evidence-based study strategies designed to improve information retention and recall.

Our Vision:
This community partnership serves as an extension of the English Language Center’s mission to serve the community. By bolstering students' academic and psychological readiness, the Center aims to raise awareness of the STEP exam and empower students to excel in their future English language assessments.
